Wisdom Tooth Removal and Impacted Tooth Removal
Many adults can go their whole lives without having a wisdom tooth removed. That’s always a nice surprise, because wisdom teeth on the move can cause aches, crowd out other teeth, affect your chewing, and eventually put you at risk of infection through your gums. If you're not one of the extra-lucky people who never have issues with wisdom teeth, you can come to us. No matter what age you are or how many wisdom teeth you need removed, we can help. (You may choose to be sedated, of course.)
Impacted teeth also can cause crowding, infections, crooked teeth, and pain. They can damage neighboring teeth. Partially erupted teeth can be difficult to clean and can start to decay, just as any other teeth can, and can promote gum disease. We remove these problem teeth swiftly and efficiently.
Impacted Tooth Exposure Surgery
We use this procedure to make your wisdom tooth accessible to us so that we may extract it, or give it space to straighten with orthodontics. We can often move an impacted tooth back into place through the use of this procedure.
Either way, you won't have to worry about seeing any further problems from your impacted wisdom tooth.
Infected Tooth Removal
Some teeth just can't be saved. If decay has progressed to a certain point then it's often better to simply remove it.
We do this only when the infection is dangerous and when a root canal or other procedure won't allow us to solve the problem. Tooth removal is a procedure of last resort. If you have any tooth pain, make your appointment early, because you might just help us help you avoid an extraction.
Oral Abscess Surgery
An abscess is a dangerous development, and a dental emergency. It can lead to the infection of the surrounding bone, oral soft tissues, and sinuses. Left unchecked the infection can spread to your bloodstream or travel to your brain and threaten your life.
We can treat the abscess to keep you safe and healthy. The sooner you come in, the better!
Dental Implant Surgery
Dental implants are the most reliable and best way to replace missing or removed teeth for many of our patients, and typically they are the best alternative to dentures. The surgery itself places a titanium implant inside of your gum and jawbone so that it can serve as a strong new tooth root. We then place a crown on top of the implant after it has had a chance to fuse with the bone. We are precise in our placement of these implants The surgeon must be precise to avoid causing complications.
Mini-screw Placement
This procedure prepares you for braces. It offers additional anchoring for the force applied by the brace when your teeth are unable to get the job done. Braces are secured to the mini-screw and used to guide a tooth into position.
We'll remove the screws when we remove your braces and fill the tiny holes with a tooth-colored composite.
Bone Grafting
Hope isn't lost even if you are losing jawbone to tooth decay or gum disease. We can use bone grafting to restore them.
We perform this procedure either by using synthetic bone or by taking bone from another part of your body and then surgically fusing it to your jawbone. This procedure helps preserve your jaw bone to prepare the area for a future dental implant.
Sinus Lift Surgery
Sinus lift surgery helps people take dental implants on the upper jaw. It increases the amount of bone in your upper jaw so that it is safe to place the implants. It is necessary whenever a patient has suffered significant jawbone loss in their upper bone. It is a specialized form of bone graft that requires us to spend a great deal of time studying your unique jaw and sinus anatomy.
Gum Grafting
Gum disease is reversible, but the damage isn't. With a gum graft, we can regrow the gums that periodontitis may have taken from you.
We simply take a little bit of tissue from the roof of your mouth and graft it to nearby healthy gum tissue so that new tissue grows. This restabilizes your gumline and helps you save teeth, or helps to prepare you for dental implants.
